CLI
Configuration
Where ttheme keeps your settings and files, and every setting it reads with the
values it takes and its default. The settings below are made from the same
source as the comments in your config.zsh.
Table of contents
Settings live in ~/.config/ttheme/config.zsh. ttheme config opens it in
$EDITOR, alt+c in ttheme edits the common ones in place, and alt+g
there picks how the list is grouped and sorted. On a Mac where option types
characters, those two work while the filter is empty, and type ç and © once
it holds text. Each default sits on a commented line, so a default a later
version changes reaches you; a line you uncomment keeps your value. A variable
exported before ttheme loads wins over the file, as
Environment variables says.
Files
Everything ttheme keeps is in ~/.config/ttheme, or under XDG_CONFIG_HOME
when you set it. Edit config.zsh and your own palettes; ttheme's commands
write the rest.
| File | What it holds | Changed by |
|---|---|---|
config.zsh |
Your settings | ttheme config, alt+c in ttheme |
marketplace/ |
Your own palettes | ttheme new, ttheme edit, or you |
marketplaces/ |
The marketplaces you added | ttheme marketplace, ttheme update |
installed.json |
The palettes and terminals you set up, and the palette new tabs start with | init, ttheme add, ttheme |
pins |
Your folder and ssh pins | ttheme pin, ttheme unpin |
backgrounds/ |
Your pictures and how each is shown | ttheme find, ttheme image |
The other files there, such as ttheme.zsh and ttheme.js, are the command
itself, which init and ttheme update replace. What ttheme remembers between
runs, such as the last release it told you about, is in
~/.local/state/ttheme.
Palettes and screens
TTHEME_MODE
default dark
The mode every palette shows in: auto, which follows the appearance of the system where a wired Ghostty, iTerm2, kitty, WezTerm or Contour reports it, or light or dark, which each palette carries both of — changing it reaches every open tab.
TTHEME_TAB_PALETTE
default off
New tabs: off keeps the configured terminal theme, seq rotates through the palettes.
TTHEME_ANNOUNCE
default 1
The palette notice under "Last login:": 1 shows it, 0 silences it.
TTHEME_FX
default typewriter
Search hint animation: typewriter, decode or glitch.
TTHEME_GROUP
default work
How ttheme lists the palettes: work shelves them by work, marketplace by marketplace, each holding its works — alt+g in ttheme changes it and the sort.
TTHEME_SORT
default abc
A work's characters in ttheme's list: abc by name, cast in the order the work's commons file lists them.
TTHEME_MOUSE
default on
The pointer, clicks, the wheel and drags in preview, browse, the palette editor and find: on, or off to leave the mouse to the terminal, so a drag selects text again without a modifier.
TTHEME_HELP_BOX
default on
The Help box in ttheme's screens: on keeps the keys no bar names on screen, off leaves them to ?.
TTHEME_KEYS
default auto
Key symbols in ttheme's screens: auto draws ⌃ ⌥ ⇧ ↩ ⎋ ⇥ on a Mac and ctrl+r, esc and the like elsewhere and over ssh, where the keyboard may not be a Mac's; mac or text picks one.
Pictures
TTHEME_BG_BLUR
default 0
Soften the background pictures behind the text: a blur radius in screen pixels, 0 keeps them sharp — changing it draws every picture again.
TTHEME_BG_STICKER
default on
The white edge around a picture that stands on its own: on cuts it like a sticker, off leaves the edge as it is — changing it draws every picture again.
TTHEME_BG_COLORS
default original
The colors new background pictures are drawn in: original keeps its own, tone tints a picture in one color of its palette — preview switches each picture later.
Downloads and updates
TTHEME_AUTO_UPDATE
default on
Checks in the background: on refreshes the marketplaces you set to update on their own once a day and says when a newer ttheme is out; off leaves both to ttheme update.
TTHEME_MARKETPLACE_LOOKUP
default on
The list in browse's Search marketplace: on downloads the marketplaces carrying the ttheme-marketplace topic when it opens; off waits for space.
TTHEME_NAME_LOOKUP
default aninames
Names in browse's Search marketplace: aninames reads a work's title typed in any language from names.ttheme.dev once you stop typing and finds the works it means, and init and update read the list of works from there; off matches the text alone and lists palettes without their works.
find
TTHEME_FIND_RATING
default safe
The ratings find lists, any of safe, questionable and explicit, each booru read in its own rating vocabulary.
TTHEME_FIND_BLOCK
default "nudity underwear"
The posts find drops by tag: nudity, underwear, both, or none to keep them all.
TTHEME_FIND_POSTS
default all
What find lists first: all is every post of the character, cutouts are the transparent ones.
TTHEME_FIND_SOLO
default on
On keeps the posts tagged solo, the character alone, by danbooru or zerochan; off lists every post.
TTHEME_FIND_CUTOUTS
default the built-in tags
The tags find calls a transparent cutout, per site as key=tag, tag pairs — e.g. "konachan=transparent, vector yande=transparent_png".
TTHEME_FIND_ORDER
default fit
The order find lists posts in: fit ranks each page by how well it makes a backdrop, newest or score.
TTHEME_FIND_SETS
default fold
Runs of the same picture at the same size from one uploader: fold shows them as one tile, show lists each.
TTHEME_FIND_REMOVE_BG
default on
An opaque picture tried on in find: on cuts the character out with macOS Vision, off leaves it as it is.
TTHEME_FIND_MIN_SCORE
default off
The lowest score find lists: off, or a number such as 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 — danbooru, konachan and yande.re filter by it, zerochan keeps no score.
TTHEME_FIND_MIN_SIZE
default off
The shortest side a picture find lists must reach, in pixels: off, or a number such as 720, 1080, 1440, 1800 or 2560.
TTHEME_FIND_SITES
default all four
The sites find mixes in its all tab: any of danbooru, konachan, yande.re and zerochan.
TTHEME_FIND_HIDE
default none
The kinds of picture find leaves out by tag: comic, monochrome, sketch, chibi, or none to keep them all.
TTHEME_FIND_HIDE_TAGS
default none
More tags find leaves out, spaced — e.g. "cosplay multiple_girls".
TTHEME_FIND_PNG
default off
On lists PNG originals only — a zerochan post counts only where danbooru holds the same file.
TTHEME_FIND_HOSTS
default none
Send a find site somewhere else, as key=https://host pairs — e.g. "danbooru=https://danbooru.donmai.us".
